Credit

One side of a double-entry record; whether it increases or decreases a balance depends on the account type.

A credit is not automatically “good” and is not the same as a bank-card credit. In bookkeeping, credits commonly increase income, liabilities, and equity, while they commonly decrease assets and expenses.
